ABC: Toddlers Consuming Too Much Sugar, Study Finds

Recently, scientists have conducted a study looking into young children’s added sugar consumption. This is the first of its kind, focusing on children aged two and under. They have found that children 6-11 months old consume around 65% of their sugars daily from added sugar. Children who are aged 1-2 have a large spike to 98-99% of their sugar intake being from added sugars. This sugar consumption is linked to diabetes, asthma, obesity, and high risk of heart disease in later years.
