Recent headlines about human beards suggest that human beards contain more germs than a dog’s fur does. These articles are written about a study that was done to compare human beards to dogs, but the intent was to find out whether or not it would be hygienic to use human MRI scanners on dogs. Even though there did not seem to be a significant difference in the microbe counts between human beards and dogs’ fur, this does not necessarily mean that all of the microbes, the bacteria, are actually dangerous.
