FDA approves of a non-statin drug that treats high cholesterol

The FDA approved a drug to treat high cholesterol that works differently than statins. Bempedoic acid which will be known as Nexletol, can reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also known as LDL. They will be further testing the drug to see if it can lower the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients who can’t tolerate statins. Nexletol inhibits cholesterol production.click here
