New York Times: Doctors Wrestle With A.I. in Patient Care, Citing Lax Oversight

Doctors are raising questions about the roughly 350 software tools approved by the F.D.A that leverage AI to help detect clots, tumors, or a hole in the lung. Dr. Nina Kottler is leading an examination of A.I. programs used in healthcare, and found that one approved program failed to detect lung abnormalities that real radiologists were able to find. Overall, there should be proper regulation of A.I. systems to ensure A.I. is implemented safely for patients.
