The FDA announced regulations a year ago to allow the sale of over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids. However, the OTC hearing aid market remains confusing for many older customers. The issue is that OTC aids have misleading advertisements, such as some companies claiming that their OTC aids can restore natural hearing, which is impossible.
