A federal court appeal in New Jersey found that individuals refusing to wear a mask during board meetings in the school district was not protected by the first amendment of free speech in the constitution. The suit was caused by the plaintiff’s claims that their free speech rights were being infringed upon and that the school retaliated against them when they refused to wear a mask during a public health emergency.
