DESCRIPTION:Event Information\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDESCRIPTION\n\n\n\nThis hands-on course through the American Heart Association is designed to “reinforce healthcare professionals’ understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation\, basic steps of performing CPR\, relieving choking\, and using an AED; and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.” In this instructor-led BLS course\, students will learn to rapidly recognize and respond to several life-threatening emergencies. Instructors will observe their technique and provide feedback\, and students will need to complete a multiple choice exam in order to receive their certification. \nCourse Content (From the AHA): \n\nHigh-quality CPR for adults\, children\, and infants\nThe AHA Chain of Survival\, specifically the BLS components\nUse of an AED\nEffective ventilations using a barrier device\nImportance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR\nRelief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants\n\nNote: This is for undergraduate UCLA students only.
