Truck attack in Manhattan kills 8; mayor calls it act of terror

According to the NYPD, eight people have died after a truck plowed through a crowd of people near the World Trade Center. The driver of a home depot rental truck drove down a bike path until crashing into a school bus.  He then exited his vehicle displaying imitation firearms and was shot by the police. The suspect is in the hospital being treated for his injuries.
