Disneyland Shuts Down Two Cooling Towers After Legionnaires’ Disease Sickens Park Visitors

Ten individuals have been infected with Legionnaires’ disease from visiting the Anaheim theme park, Disneyland. Authorities discovered an increased amount of Legionella bacteria in two of the cooling towers at Disneyland. The towers were shut down and treated with disinfectants to kill off the bacteria. CDC officials state that the disease is a result of infected water droplets in the air that people breathe in. Legionnaires’ disease does not spread person to person. As of now, the two towers are back in service.
