Mosquitos carrying the West Nile Virus have been found in Brookline, MA. There have been six cases in Massachusetts thus far and the public is being urged to take precautionary steps towards bug protection. These include the use of screens, bug repellent containing DEET or Picaridin, wearing long sleeve shirt and pants, and lowering the amount of standing water puddles near your home if possible. There are usually no symptoms of West Nile, however if symptoms do show they will take the form of a fever and appear flu-like.
