SFC: Camp Fire, Woolsey Fire Prompt Public Health Emergency Declaration for California

On November 13th, federal officials deemed the Camp and Woolsey fires a public health emergency. This announcement followed President Trump’s approval of a declaration of major disaster allowing those affected to be eligible for home repair and take on low-cost loans as well as grants. The declaration of these events being a public health emergency allows survivors who depend on Medicare, Medicaid, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program to continue to get the coverage they need to receive any treatment that they may require.
