LA Times: Disturbing portrait emerges of Gilroy Garlic Festival shooter

839

On the 28th of June, a nineteen year old gunman opened fire at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, killing three and wounding a dozen. After bypassing security by entering through a hole cut into a side fence, the Gilroy native opened fire. Within a minute, policemen shot and killed the man, but not before someone in the crowd shouted “Why are you doing this?” Allegedly, the gunman replied that he was “really angry.” The gunman bought the rifle at a firearm shop in Nevada online and brought it into California, even though that specific gun is illegal in the state. As far as motive, there have been stipulations that he was tied to a white supremacy group, however, little is known at this point.
