CNN: Google to release your location data to help fight coronavirus pandemic

Google has been collecting data about people’s location throughout the coronavirus pandemic, and the company now states it plans to public release the data in “Community Motility Reports” to better inform public health officials. The data will be organized by country then region, and show traffic at places like grocery stores or recreation. The data will only include people who have turned on location history which is off by default in Google settings, and personal identifiable information will not be released.
