Vox: California’s largest wildfire on record is now a million-acre “gigafire”

The first time in decades, the August Complex that began in an area in California has spread and burned at least 1,002,000 acres. Since August 16, the area is bigger than Rhode Island in size. In 2020 until now, there have been 4 million acres of land across the nation burned by wildfires.
