With the recent events at the Atlanta shooting, the author of this article summarizes statistics on the U.S.’s gun violence. America is labeled to have 32nd highest rate of deaths due to gun violence in the world. Within the U.S., the District of Columbia has the highest rates, Louisiana is the second highest, with Georgia and Colorado are near the national average. The author compares the United States’ standing on a list of different groups such as countries with lowest rates of gun deaths, highest rates of gun deaths, Asia, North Africa and Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
