Science: “Unethical? Unnecessary? The COVID-19 vaccine booster debate intensifies”

The COVID-19 vaccines have proven that they are still extremely effective at preventing severe infection but the highly infectious Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 continues to ravage much of the globe, highlighting the limits of our vaccines. As a result, policymakers and scientists are arguing over whether distributing booster shots or continuing to vaccinate the unvaccinated should remain the top priority. Organizations like the WHO are warning against booster rollouts as there are billions of high-risk people worldwide that have not even received their first dose of the vaccine.
