The Guardian: Experts say China’s low-level cyberwar is becoming severe threat
Cybersecurity experts state that Chinese state-sponsored hackings have become a more severe threat in 2021 than anticipated. In July, western countries including the U.S. accused Beijing of exploiting vulnerabilities in Microsoft Exchange server software, which affected over 250,000 organizations worldwide. Hackers gained access to company emails and also used a “web shell” tool that allowed them to hack into any compromised Exchange server. China denies being involved in the hackings.
