Saudi officials have closed down universities and schools after Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s second largest city flooded. The Saudi Civil Defense anticipates heavy rainfall to continue until Wednesday morning. Flooding in Jeddah occurs yearly and in 2009, more than 100 individuals died as a result. It is unclear how detrimental this flood will be but Saudi officials are keeping a close eye on the matter with rescue efforts underway.
