NBC News: Major hospital system hit with cyberattack, potentially largest in U.S. history

On Sunday morning 9/27, the major hospital operating company Universal Health Services (UHS) became the victim of a large scale cyber attack. Hailed as one of the largest medical cyberattacks in United States history, the purported ransomware forcibly shut down computer systems across the UHS network. As of Monday morning, the 400+ healthcare-facility-spanning, network appears to remain offline. To make matters worse, it is possible that the attackers have stolen sensitive patient information.
