NPR News: California Is 1st State To Offer Health Benefits To Adult Undocumented Immigrants

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a measure that would extend the state’s Medicaid program to low-income, undocumented adults ages 25 and younger. This idea of giving health care benefits to undocumented immigrants is supported by most of the Democratic candidates running for president, despite the fact that the Trump administration continues to crack down on illegal and undocumented immigrants. In California, this action of extending health benefits to illegal immigrants is widely supported, with almost two-thirds of state residents supporting this program.
