NBC News: Thousands flee as volcano erupts in the Philippines, Manila airport closed

The Taal Volcano in Batangas province, 37 miles south of Manila, Philippines caused evacuations for thousands of people and shut down the Manila International Airport. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology classified the volcano as level 4, one lower than the highest, which indicates that another hazardous eruption may occur again in hours or days.
