UMass Boston student is state’s first confirmed case of coronavirus

A UMass student in Boston just recently tested positive for the coronavirus and is now currently being held in self-isolation. Public health nurses are currently monitoring his health and report that he is recovering well. State officials working with the CDC are to determine if the student can be cleared for contact once he has recovered from the coronavirus. The student is the 8th confirmed case in the United States. State officials continue to state that the risk to the public remains low and that people should stay calm.
