As COVID-19 rates surge yet again, the kind of care and preventative measures insurance companies should cover completely falls into question. The major point regards coverage of care for those who are vaccinated versus unvaccinated, with insurers suggesting they will charge more to people who choose to be unvaccinated. However, testing, which was once free for everyone, no matter the reason, has begun to cost people in different regions depending on the reason for the test. Finally, cost for COVID-19 care in hospitals is no longer going to be completely covered by most insurers. These decisions come with faith from medical professionals in the vaccine, but leave behind those who medically cannot be vaccinated, those who become sick despite being vaccinated, and those too young.
