Los Angeles Times: ‘Just wear a mask and don’t tell anyone’: Workplaces are filling up with sick employees

Fast-food workers, grocery clerks, teacher, and people from many other jobs have been under pressure to work despite feeling sick or testing positive for Covid-19. Two-thirds of service workers surveyed said they did not stay home from work when they were feeling sick. During this pandemic, many workplaces have experienced chronic short-staffing and threats from management of losing pay. New CDC guidelines for shortened quarantine periods and lack of free Covid-19 testing provided by employers have left many employees stressed and uncomfortable returning to the workplace.
