CNN: With fewer cases and less demand, many Covid-19 testing sites are shutting down

With COVID-19 cases and deaths hitting record lows in the past few months many testing sites have closed due to a lack of demand. The rise in at-home testing availability has also played a role in the decrease in testing sites across the United States. Also, the decrease in federal funding for COVID-19 efforts has made it harder for states to staff testing sites at the same rates as before. In the Spring of 2021 testing sites were closing for similar reasons but were forced to reopen due to the rise of the Delta variant. The full article by Aria Bendix can be read here on CNN.
