NBC: Biden administration prepares to push for Covid funding when Congress returns

The Biden Administration is looking to push for COVID-19 funding as soon as Congress returns from recess. Before the recess, the White House had a $10 billion bipartisan deal stalled in the senate. Half of the $10 billion will go towards therapeutics with the rest being designated for vaccines and testing. Along with funding for COVID-19 relief and testing the Biden administration is aiming to send more aid to Ukraine. Unlike previous plans, none of this funding will go towards global aid in combating the pandemic. Initially, the White House wanted $22.5 billion in COVID-19 funding last month but was significantly cut to ensure enough republicans would vote in favor of the funding.
