NPR: The federal government is offering another round of free COVID tests

For the third time, Americans can order free at-home COVID-19 tests at COVIDtests.gov. Through the U.S postal service, up to 8 tests will be sent per household. This comes as a result of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations increasing by 60% in the past 2 weeks due to highly contagious Omicron sub-variants. The Biden administration is also looking to order 1 billion more tests that would be free for Americans funded by the American Rescue Plan which was put into effect in 2021 to recover from the economic and health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
