New Trial For TPOXX Monkeypox Drug Launched in Africa

The testing of TPOXX is being launched in central Africa as a potential treatment for monkeypox. Currently, the antiviral drug TPOXX is only approved for smallpox treatment by the FDA but could be used to treat monkeypox as the drug targets a protein found in both monkeypox and smallpox.
