NYTimes: F.D.A. Outlines a Plan for Annual Covid Boosters

Like the annual flu shot, the FDA is suggesting that people get a COVID booster each fall. It was also mentioned that it might just be bivalent doses offered in this manner. Many scientists and doctors are hoping that the FDA will provide more data to back up their proposal in a meeting later this week. Scientists and the FDA are trying to balance a simple vaccine timeline with the most efficacious approach. It is also important that high vs. low-risk populations are taken into consideration, as it may not be necessary or beneficial for those in the lower risk category to receive an annual booster.
