NYTimes: Long Covid Is Keeping Significant Numbers of People Out of Work, Study Finds

A New York insurance agency study reported that 71% of people experiencing long Covid needed to be out of work for six or more months. The CEO of the insurance fund, Gaurav Vasisht, estimates that the number of people experiencing long Covid is higher than this number suggests and that most of those people likely are not seeking treatment for their health challenges. These workers have to deal with their health consequences and the stigma and challenges of returning to work after long absences. The fund is also bringing up issues of occupational hazard pertaining to Covid, and patients who were likely exposed and/or infected at their place of work. To read the full article, click here.
