How Power Outages Can Affect Mental Health

With 95% of Puerto Rico’s electrical grid down, beyond the immediate concerns of damaged infrastructure, another pressing concern is that of mental health. Drawing comparisons to the mental health concerns of New York inhabitants following Hurricane Sandy, this article looks at how mental health, while it may not be the most pressing issue of immediate disaster relief, is still of great concern for Puerto Rico’s inhabitants.
