US measles outbreak is largest since the disease was declared eliminated in 2000

Although measles was declared eliminated nationwide in 2000, there have been 681 US cases across 22 states so far this year. This follows the previous record of 667 cases of measles in 2014. The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed these findings. Measles is a highly contagious air-born disease caused by a virus.
