SA: Study Reports First Case of Coronavirus Spread by Asymptomatic Person

As of January 30th, the coronavirus has infected nearly 10,000 people in China and killed around 200.  A new development in the coronavirus outbreak suggests that asymptomatic people can transmit the disease. This finding is incredibly telling, as other coronaviruses like SARS can only be transmitted when a carrier shows symptoms. Findings suggest that in Germany, an asymptomatic person transmitted the virus to a co-worker, who then transmitted it to two other people. The world health authorities have now declared a global emergency because health experts feel these findings warrant a reassessment of the transmission dynamics.
