Washington Post: Rise of coronavirus variants will define the next phase of the pandemic in the U.S.
With the different variants racing throughout the country, researchers and state representatives state that they need the vaccines to rollout even more quickly. In current labs, the three vaccines approved in the U.S. are showing signs of immunity from the different variants in the U.S. Some experts are wondering if the competition among the different variants are slowing the spread of the virus. For example, in northern regions of California, B.1.427/B.1429 is dominating the Covid-19 cases, while in southern regions of California, B.1.1.7 is dominating the cases.
