NPR: What Texas’ New Abortion Law Means For The Peak Who Seek And Provide Them

The new abortion law in Texas bans abortions after six weeks and allows citizens to sue any person that is helping a patient get an abortion. For affected patients, those that will be most affected are those who lack the resources such as being unable to travel out of state. Furthermore, the six week timeline is extremely short because in Texas a patient must make two appointments at least 24 hours apart to schedule an abortion. As for providers, their only option is to suggest patients go to other states for services.
