The nation’s second largest school district of over 600,000 students, L.A.U.S.D. Board of Education, had a unanimous agreement on a mandate for Covid-19 vaccinations for all students age 12 and up. January 10, 2022 will be the deadline for all students, unless they have a “medical or other exemption”. The board believes this will be the best option to keep schools safe. With more than 5,200 cases of Covid-19 contraction in students K-12, it took only 1 week for a unanimous vote. In fact, the average daily Covid-19 case rate is now higher in children ages 5-17 than adults. There will be expected legal challenges, but the board emphasizes that this will be the best option to keep children and school communities safe. For the full article, click here.
