CNN: CDC signs off on Novavax Covid-19 vaccine for adults
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday signed off on Novavax’s two-dose Covid-19 vaccine. Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, along with the rest of the CDC committee voted to unanimously recommend the use of the new vaccine as a two-dose primary series in adults. The Novavax vaccine is now the 4th available in the United States. This vaccination differs from the Pfizer and Moderna shots in that it is protein-based and not an mRNA vaccine. In the development of the Novavax vaccine, coronavirus spike proteins are used to protect against the virus. The full article by Jacqueline Howard and Katherine Dillinger can be read here on CNN.
