Phys Org: Research Conducted By An Australian University May Show That Social Media Is Not Being Utilized Properly During Disasters

According to a study conducted by Charles Darwin University in Australia, 65% of the participants opted to use traditional websites and authorities’ websites instead of social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter for real-time information during natural disasters. As a result, researchers believe that social media has the potential to be a much more useful resource for the public during disasters if it were utilized in a more efficient way.
