Locals who keep animals report that chickens, cows, and foxes have died after a train derailment that caused chemical burns in Ohio.

Officials with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources said Tuesday that they counted about 3,500 dead fish in four waterways nearby. In an early sampling shortly after the February 3 crash, officials counted the deaths of 12 different species, none of which are endangered.

Ohio Department of Agriculture officials said they are not seeing widespread symptoms among livestock in the community that could raise concerns about how the chemical could affect animals.
