Russian fighter jet collides with US drone causing it to crash into Black Sea

Accusing Russia of “unsafe and unprofessional” intercept of MQ-9 Reaper, the Pentagon spokesman, Brig Gen Patrick Ryder, states the close proximity to the drone for about half an hour. Despite this, Russia’s defense ministry denied any collusion and suggested the drone was brought down through pilot mishandling. Above all, the downing of the drone has triggered a race to recover the wreckage, especially with US’ advanced technology. Russian ambassador Anatoly Antonov views the incident as a “provocation,” but they didn’t want confrontation with the US.
