Tick Disease Called Babesiosis Could Be On The Rise

Annual cases of babesiosis spread through ticks have doubled since 2011, and could be on the rise due to warmer temperatures. The disease is not as common as Lyme disease, but both are underreported in the United States. Babesiosis is mainly spread through deer ticks and can be transmitted through blood which could pose risks for blood transfusions and organ donations.
