USA Today: Could Deepfakes Impact The 2024 Election?

After a series of deepfake phone calls made to voters in New Hampshire before the primaries encouraging residents to wait to vote for Joe Biden until November, the debate of deepfakes and election results has increased. Government officials are concerned that the lack of federal regulation and improved technology behind deepfakes, or AI generated portrayals of individuals, will impact 2024 election results by influencing voter opinion.
