30,000 run in Delhi’s ‘smogathon’

Over 30,000 individuals participated in the annual Delhi half marathon, despite high pollution levels that could negatively impact runners health. Local doctors and health officials wanted the race to be postponed this year due to the high level of pollution. In addition, many runners chose to sit out of the race this year due to the pollution levels, with many others that did run citing that if the pollution continues to worsen, they would sit out of the marathon next year.
