The CDC wants to gently prepare people for (an unlikely) nuclear war

While they have stressed the unlikely nature of nuclear war, the CDC is planning to hold a session on January 16th to discuss issues of personal safety and response training, on both a federal and local level, in the event of nuclear war. While this session does come at a time of heightened tension between the United States and North Korea, the CDC wants to emphasize that this discussion is merely a way to raise awareness without causing widespread distress.
