Hemorrhagic Fever Outbreak in Uganda

Uganda has stated that it is at extreme risk for an outbreak of viral hemorrhagic fever (VHF), specifically Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF). Four individuals have died in the recent weeks due to this VHF. Sarah Opendi, Uganda’s health minister, explains that medical teams are being sent to Uganda communities to try and keep the situation under control. The disease is characterized with fever as well as lethal bleeding.
