11 Cities Most Likely to Run Out of Drinking Water

Recently, Cape Town, South Africa was in the news as a result of a severe drought causing economic hardship on the city due to the low level of water supply. However, Cape Town is just one example of the growing water scarcity issue on the planet. According to the UN, fresh water supply is predicted to run out, with supply being 40% less then demand by 2030. BBC News complied a list of major cities that are predicted to most likely run out of water, in addition to Cape Town, for a variety of reasons, mainly due to drought and pollution of fresh water supplies. The cities listed are Sao Paulo, Bangalore, Beijing, Cairo, Jakarta, Moscow, Istanbul, Mexico City, London, Tokyo, and Miami.
