Officials may have found the reason as to why the Lion Air Flight 610 crashed on October 29 killing all 189 people on board. An automatic anti-stall system seems to have malfunctioned during the flight, which measures the positions of the wings relative to the flow of air. This system on the Boeing 737 MAX automatically pushes the nose of the plane down to prevent a stall in certain situations. Maintenance records show issues with the anti-stall system for a few flights previously as well on the same plane.
