An explosion on November 27th in northeast China has left 22 dead and another 22 injured. 38 trucks and 12 passenger vehicles were destroyed in the fire outside of a chemical plant in Zhangjiakou, where the Winter 2022 Olympics were planned to take place. The incident is still under investigation but the explosion highlights that industrial safety is a major concern in China due to weakly enforced regulations in the industry.
