NPR: Thai Officials Close Schools as Toxic Air Pollution Chokes Bangkok
The air quality in Bangkok, Thailand has gotten so bad that officials closed public schools for Thursday and Friday this week. The pollution is mainly attributed to vehicle exhaust, but there are many other contributors, such as the factories. The health effect of air pollution is a continuing challenge, especially because individual homes may not have the ability to make the air inside their homes cleaner than public schools.
