NBC: New Law Would Change How County Responds to Disease Outbreak

A new law, if passed will require The County Health Department to share information about disease outbreaks immediately. This law was proposed following the Hepatitis A outbreak of 2017 that took the lives of over 20 individuals and hospitalized over 400 in San Diego, CA. Many speculate that since the 2017 outbreak impacted and spread through the homeless population that officials failed to make the public aware of the outbreak.
